SWITCH100

Bottom Line: I do not recommend this product for your living room.

Note: This is not intended to be a full review, only a personal tidbit.

On May 17, 2013, I received 6 of the long-awaited SWITCH100 LED light bulb and promptly installed them in my 3 living room sconces… then uninstalled them almost as quickly.

Unfortunately, as much as I wanted to love the new light bulbs, save money, save the environment, and keep them for the next 20+ years, there were two major issues:

  1. A very noticeable buzz / hum, to my surprise.
  2. The quality of light was very distracting. This may sound odd, but there was a strange visual effect when I waved my hand in front of my face, the blur wasn’t smooth, it was more like a string of freeze frames. This phenomenon was surprisingly disorienting, which I’m certain caused a headache within a short time along with the pitch of the buzz / hum. Upon uninstalling the lights, my headache went away within 5 minutes, and of course there was no visual effect with the incandescent bulbs reinstalled.

I hope you have found this useful!
